Celia the Queen — Brand identity

10 years in the making and the definitive documentary on Celia Cruz, this film was a labour of love for all the filmmakers involved. With interviews with the likes of Quincy Jones and David Byrne, not to mention Celia herself, this gem of a documentary was immediately embraced by audiences when it premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Lemon Yellow was tasked with the job of producing all of the graphic materials for the project as well as motion graphics for the film itself. The resulting identity is a tightly integrated series of graphics built around a custom font that was animated for the film and which was eventually extended into a sub brand once the project was completed.
